Happy birthday to Snoop Dogg, say the Step Brothers, who have returned.
Snoop joined Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly onstage on
Saturday, the day after the rap icon turned 52, for the Best Night of Your Life
2 benefit concert. However, before Snoop could exit the spotlight, Reilly made
a surprising statement that made him the center of attention.
In a video uploaded on Snoop's Instagram, Reilly informed
the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles crowd that "yesterday was a very special
day." "Mr. Snoop Dogg celebrated his birthday. We're preparing to
sing Happy Birthday to the best rapper in the world!"
The MC receives a massive three-tier cake from Ferrell in
the video, which gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the performance. The
MC then lights a joint with his birthday candles.
Reilly said, "That's what I'm talking about," as
the audience cheered.
Snoop blew out his candles after the pair led the crowd in a
"Happy Birthday" sing-along.
My brothers shocked me, Snoop said in the description of his
photo. "Will and John."
Before the birthday celebrations, Reilly and Ferrell
collaborated on a rendition of "Boats 'N Hoes," originally performed
by their Step Brothers characters Brennan and Dale. Snoop entered the stage for
a verse before the trio started singing the rapper's classic single from 1994,
"Gin and Juice."
While Reilly and Ferrell have a lengthy history of working
together (with Holmes & Watson and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky
Bobby), the Anchorman actor also has a relationship with Snoop. They both
starred in the 2003 film Old School, and they later hurled obscenities at
Justin Bieber at his Comedy Central roast in 2015.
