Elon Musk Contributed $75 million to the America PAC in Support of Trump

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk launched his political action committee (PAC), America PAC, in May and later endorsed Donald Trump for the presidency.

According to filings with the Federal Election Commission, Musk has donated nearly $75 million to the PAC in support of Trump’s 2024 campaign. Between July and September, Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, contributed a total of $74,950,020, accounting for all donations reported during that period.

These contributions highlight Musk’s backing as Trump faces off against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the November 5 election.

Musk, the richest person in the world with a fortune of $246.8 billion (Forbes data), initially introduced America PAC in May. The PAC aims to support candidates who align with "core American values." Its mission revolves around six key principles: border security, responsible fiscal policies, public safety, justice reform, self-defense, and free speech.

America PAC has since emerged as the seventh-largest independent spender in the 2024 election, having spent $106 million. In comparison, the pro-Trump super PAC Make America Great Again Inc. has spent around $254 million, while Fast Forward USA, backing Kamala Harris, has spent $263 million, as reported by OpenSecrets.

In September, America PAC received additional significant donations from prominent figures such as Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, venture capitalist Doug Leone, and Sequoia Capital’s Shaun Maguire.

Musk publicly endorsed Trump in July, shortly after Trump survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A month later, Musk engaged in a live discussion with Trump on X "Spaces." In October, Musk appeared alongside Trump at another Butler rally, encouraging voter registration.

As of the end of September, America PAC had nearly $4 million in available funds. Musk also announced a series of speaking engagements across Pennsylvania in the coming week.
